North Carolina’s American Indians in World War II
|
American Indians from North Carolina served in World War II in different ways. Men from many tribes enlisted or were drafted into the military, and women grew Victory gardens, bought war bonds, and served as nurses or WASP pilots. This article appeared in the Fall 2005 issue of Tar Heel Junior Historian magazine.
