Traditional Cherokee Pottery
|
Stamped pottery is a style of pottery decoration that was used almost 2,000 years ago by American Indians in the southern Appalachians. Wooden paddles with carved designs are pressed into the clay before it is fired to make the designs. This article appeared in the Fall 2005 issue of Tar Heel Junior Historian magazine.
